Daniel Wysocki began his legal studies at Collège Ahuntsic where he obtained a diploma of collegial studies in paralegal technology in 2008. He then went on to pursue his studies in law at Université de Sherbrooke in 2011. Also, during his university studies, Mr. Wysocki received an admission scholarship for the graduate program in common law and trans-border law (Juris Doctor) of Université de Sherbrooke, a program that he also successfully completed in 2011.
Daniel Wysocki went on to complete the Bar’s professional internship in 2012 and began his professional career with a Montreal-based firm where he focused solely on defending his clients’ interests with public bodies.
Mr. Wysocki joined Bernier Fournier’s team in January 2014 and was appointed to the position of associate lawyer in June 2016. He focuses his practice on labour and employment law, specifically with respect to occupational health and safety, civil litigation and representations before various administrative tribunals.
In matters of labour and employment law and occupational health and safety, Mr. Wysocki has represented numerous employers in the negotiation of working conditions during the renewal of collective agreements, in claims for dismissal without just and sufficient cause and for prohibited practices, in employee claims for amounts owed, and in individual and collective dismissals. Mr. Wysocki is regularly called upon to defend the interests of employers before the Tribunal Administratif du Travail (TAT) in matters of labor relations, employment injury, or grievances heard before arbitrators. Mr. Wysocki is also called upon to act as an advisor before a legal dispute arises, particularly in matters of psychological or sexual harassment, enabling employers to make more informed decisions regarding their rights.
Mr. Wysocki is also called upon to act as an independent investigator in cases of psychological or sexual harassment in the workplace.
Mr. Wysocki also practices civil law and has argued several cases before the Court of Quebec and the Superior Court in matters of civil liability for personal injuries, hidden defects, termination of contract, disability and employment insurance benefits.
Finally, Mr. Wysocki has a vast experience in administrative law and has assisted a large number of litigants in disputes involving the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST), l’Indemnisation des victimes d’actes criminels (IVAC) and Retraite Québec (RQ).
Mr. Wysocki has been involved with Parrainage Civique Drummond, an organization whose mission is to promote the integration and social participation of people living with an intellectual disability. After serving for more than two years as a member of the board, he was elected as vice-president of the board on June 8, 2016, then President of the Board on June 19, 2019, position he held until September 2020.
In August 2017, Mr. Wysocki joined SPIN 8 as a member of the organizing committee. Through its annual spinning activity, the organization raises approximately $20,000.00 which is then paid to an organization in the Drummondville region.
From 2018 to 2021, Mr. Wysocki sat on the Board of Directors of the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Drummond, a group that represents the collective interests of the City of Drummondville and the Drummond MRC, and contributes to the advancement of issues related to economic growth and improving the region’s quality of life. From 2021 to 2022, Mr. Wysocki was vice-president and member of the executive committee of the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Drummond.
In addition, from 2018 to 2021, Mr. Wysocki was president of the Comité d’éthique à la recherche du Cégep de Drummondville, an independent committee whose mission is to evaluate the ethical compliance of research projects involving the participation of individuals.
