Armelle Carrara, LL.B, LL.M.

Associate

Passionate about criminal law from the beginning of her studies, Ms. Carrara gained her first courtroom experience by representing the Université de Montréal at the national Gale Cup competition, where her team won the award for the best Francophone team.

She continued her graduate studies in Europe, earning a Master’s degree in International and European Law from the University of Toulouse (France), followed by a Master’s in International Criminal Law from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), dedicating her thesis to Russian organized crime and human trafficking.

She began her legal career as a prosecutor with the Provincial Crown, and later practiced independently in criminal, penal, and family law.

Drawn to teaching and always eager to impart her knowledge and share her experience, Ms. Carrara accepted a position as a lecturer in a paralegal program. For over a decade, she contributed to the theoretical and practical training of paralegals and future lawyers, with a primary mission of instilling in them not only a love for the law but also intellectual rigor and work ethics.

In search of new challenges, Ms. Carrara returned to active practice and enthusiastically joined the team at Bernier Fournier law firm in the spring of 2024 to practice as a criminal lawyer.
